Abstract

|
Primary renal carcinoid tumor is extremely rare arising from neuroendocrine cells. The etiology, clinical presentation, pathologic patterns and prognosis is not yet fully understood and there is still no useful diagnostic tool for detection. Here we report a case of a primary renal carcinoid tumor in a 43-year-old female who was found incidentally in a medical examination and was treated by radical nephrectomy.
